Design QA
The step where the built product is checked against the design: colors, typography, spacing, and layout, before or shortly after release.
Design QA answers one question: does what we shipped match what we designed? It sits apart from functional QA, which asks whether things work. A page can pass every functional test and still ship with the wrong font weight, drifted spacing, and a button color from two brand versions ago.
Most design QA is mechanical comparison, and that is exactly why it gets skipped: checking dozens of values by eye is patient work humans are bad at sustaining. Teams handle it with checklists, or increasingly by automating the comparison between the design file and the rendered page.
Because feedback shouldn’t be the hard part.
