Staging environment

A private copy of a website where changes are reviewed and tested before they reach the production site that visitors see.

A staging environment lets a team look at upcoming work in a real browser without exposing it to the public. It is where most client review rounds happen: the build is far enough to judge, but nothing is final yet.

For feedback workflows, staging raises a practical question: can reviewers reach it, and can your feedback tool work on it? Staging sites often sit behind passwords or on temporary URLs, so tools that require installing scripts on the site, or that only work on public pages, can struggle there.

Because feedback shouldn’t be the hard part.
